The tech industry is a  rapidly changing enviroment, but although the devices and technologies change every few years, what remains consistent is the rivalries. New competitors do occasionally pop-up, with the likes of OnePlus appearing from nowehere, and LG upping its game to the point where it’s now a thorn in Samsung’s side, but meanwhile the same old veterans are still slogging it out in the same old feuds, some of which have been going for decades now. Apple and Microsoft are pretty much the ultimate example of this, with the duo competing head-to-head pretty much since home computing became a thing.

Anyone trying to make the choice between the iPad Pro and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 may be having a struggle on their handset to decide which the best is.

The test was recently made between the iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and both of these devices offer the chance for people to take notes, annotate PDFs along with using Gmail, Dropbox and Microsoft Office.

There are pros to the iPad Pro and one of them is the build quality and it also has a display that is simply stunning. The device is able to open PDFs easily along with it being easy to read on. Making notes on the display in landscape mode is very easy and the tablet comes with lots of apps. It offers a keyboard that is easy to use and it offers sound quality that is good.

The iPad Pro is a great device to carry around and its heavy. This means it cannot be held in one hand and it can be unsteady if you hold it on your lap. The keyboard does flop around when not on a table.

The good things about the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 include it being a great Windows device which has a keyboard that is good. The kickstand can be folded back into the back and it can be used on the knee. OneNote is loaded up when you click on the eraser and the magnetic strip does work well and you can attach the pen to it.

The downside to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the fact that the writing experience isn’t all that good on it. You cannot write in small print on the tablet.
