INFLATION RISES TO 8.8%

 The Annual Headline Inflation for the year ending October 2015 increased to 8.8 percent, compared to the 7.2 percent that was recorded for the year ended September 2015. The main driver for the increase was Annual Food crops Core Inflation which rose to 20.2 percent for the year ending October 2015 compared to the 10.2 percent increase recorded in September 2015. The other driver was Annual EFU Inflation that accelerated to 11.9 percent for the year ending October 2015 compared to the 3.8 percent registered during the year ended September 2015, on account of the increase in electricity tariffs. However, the Annual Core Inflation declined to 6.3 percent for the year ending October 2015 compared to the 6.7 percent recorded in September 2015.
