Facebook has announced to roll out Instant Article feature for its messaging app, Messenger. The feature will provide quick access to links shared on the platform, faster than a standard mobile web article.
‘When you tap on an Instant Article link in Facebook, it loads up to ten times faster than a standard mobile web article, so it was important to make sure everyone on Messenger could have the same great reading experience,’ John Roberts, product manager, said in a statement. below;
“Since launching Instant Articles to publishers around the world, we’ve seen clear evidence they provide a better reading experience for people on Facebook. People are responding to the faster, more immersive experience, so we’re excited to bring Instant Articles to even more mobile surfaces across Facebook.
Today we’re announcing Instant Articles in Messenger, beginning first with support for Android, followed by iPhone in the coming weeks. When you tap on an Instant Article link in Facebook, it loads up to ten times faster than a standard mobile web article, so it was important to make sure everyone on Messenger could have the same great reading experience. As we roll this out over the next several weeks, people using Messenger will see a lightning bolt on the top right corner of some links shared in Messenger, which indicates the link is an Instant Article.
Every month, more than 900 million people around the world communicate with friends, family members and businesses on Messenger, and that includes sharing informative and entertaining content from websites. Currently, links shared via Messenger load in a mobile browser, which can be a slow experience, especially in places where low connectivity is an issue. Now people can have the same fast, interactive experience reading Instant Articles in Messenger that they have in the Facebook app, and publishers can tell beautiful stories and reach their audiences through both Facebook and Messenger.
