Kibuli SS have been crowned champions of National Post Primary Schools Football after beating rivals St. Mary’s Kitende in the finals.
In a closely contested match at Soroti Grounds, Teso, defending champions Kitende the lead with a penalty from Pius Wanji but Kibuli equalised mid-way the second half.
The fixture ended square in normal time and penalties were needed to separate the two giants, Wangi pius gave Kitende the lead before Alilo equalized for Kibuli. In the spot kicks, Frank Tumwesigye “Zaga” and Jerry missed on the side of Kitende.
Its then that Kibuli triumphed 4-3 to earn their first ever victory against the Wakiso representatives. The victory means Kibuli, record competition winners now win a 10th crown and are two better than Kitende. In a third play-off, Blessed Sacrament Kimanya SS won an all Masaka contest beating Masaka SS 5-3 on penalties after a barren draw.
