Kirinya-Jinja S.S wins FUFA Big League after overcoming Onduparaka


The students’ side overcame Arua based outfit, Onduparaka 2-0 in a well contested, action packed and fully attended final watched by Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic among others.

Fast paced winger, Musa Magumba gave the students a lead with a minute to the mandatory half time break and Joel Madondo doubled the advantage inside the opening 60 seconds of the second half and the Arua giants never recovered.

Earlier, Proline had beaten Sporting United from Lira 4-1 to seal the third slot for the teams qualifying for next season’s Uganda Premier League.

Bukedea Town Council was awarded with the fair play trophy, Edris Lubega of Proline topped the goal scorers’ chart with 19 goals in the regular season and Onduparaka coach, Allan Kabonge Kivewala scooped the coach of the season accolade.

Onduparaka’s skipper, Muhammed ‘Jargasson’ Shaban was rewarded as the Big League Most Valuable Player and Kirinya-Jinja S.S shot stopper, Ikara Latom was the best goalkeeper.
