This must be Maurice Kirya’s worst year in his entire career, it started off with his ‘Sound Cup’ business incurring losses till when he shifted from Garden city to Bugolobi Mall but still it kept on a low till he closed down.
Last night, he staged his highly anticipated 2016 concert dubbed “Kirya Live” at Kampala Serena Hotel, despite of his big fan base, the ‘King of Mwoyo’ was forced to perform for a few friends, relatives and the big empty seat at the Victoria Hall. Unlike Bebe Cool’s shows where people are always seen entering as early as 5pm, it was a different case for the ‘Busabala’ singer who kept waiting in vain till 7pm when the small number of fans were seen walking in. The whole front V.I.P section was occupied by journalists and camera men as his brother Vampino, Levixone and fans cheered him on.
Maurice Kirya stepped on stage at exactly 9pm dressed in an all-black outfit ( black jeans, shirt and a leather jacket). As usual, hje put up an energetic performance while sampling all his songs up to his album ‘Mwooyo’ which had songs like ‘Blue dress’, ‘Busabala’ etc.
With Michael Ouma on stage, Maurice Kirya made good use of the 2 hours he spent on stage.By 11pm,Maurice Kirya showed off his father to his few fans who attended. Only God knows the debts you fans got this guy into !!!. The Tubonga nawe ghosts must be picking on the wrong people, from Kalifah now Maurice Kirya. Hope they will spare Ziza Bafana who is holding his ‘Tuli Majje’ show at Freedom City this evening.
