Uganda Police embarked on curbing down on the increased crime in the region especially vehicle theft, Interpol Uganda joined other countries in both East, Central and southern part of Africa with an aim of curbing down the traffic of human beings, environment crime.
A just concluded 2-day operation ‘Usalama’ 3 that started 29th June to 30th June 2016 in various parts of the country, Police managed to recover four stolen vehicles, a posh BMW, which was possessed singer Leila Kayondo, AUDI Q7, Range Rover and a Toyota Land cruiser. It is believed that city tycoon SK Mbuga bought the BMW for the singer while they were still lovers, SK Mbuga a few days back bought a new car for new lover Vivian, only God knows if its not stolen too.
“Theft of motor vehicles is a very big problem in our region where by on a daily basis we register a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Over 20 Isuzu trucks where stolen and taken to Tanzania where we want to repatriate them. In Democratic Republic of Congo we have over 100 cars which were recovered and are waiting to be repatriated back to Uganda,” Interpol Director AIGP Asan Kasingye disclosed.
During the operation, Police carried out a massive search and discovered that out of the 122 motor vehicles checked four had been stolen from various countries, one from Japan and three from United Kingdom, the cars are currently parked at Interpol Headquarters in Kololo well as the fourth is at Uganda Revenue Authority Headquarters.
SK Mbuga is a known Gold dealer in Congo and at one time he was arrested over his involvement in fake Gold deals, Lets this how this goes after he beat up the singer earlier on this year. We shall keep you updated.
