Ugandan and Africa’s legendary singer Jose Chameleon seems not to be happy with the system in this year’s Coke Studio Africa as he went on to air out his anger at the management for sidelining his mash up together with Nigerian singer Eva Alordiah.
According Chameleon, Coke Studio are selective pushing Mash Up songs from their favorite artistes particularly Nigerian stars like Ice Prince,Mr.Flavor,Yemi Alade (my thought)etc. It is remembered very early at this year’s MTVbase Evolution Award where Chameleone scooped the majority Votes but they ended up giving it to D’banj.
This is what he had to say “@cokestudioafrica My Humble request is Fulfill the intent of Bringing Africa together Musically through our different sounds from different cultures am totally disappointed that you make me and @ievaalordiah in this years season to participate and unfortunately light up Artistes that are in your own interests. I have not seen any post from you directing my fans and @ievaalordiah fans to vote!!!! Next time fix fair balance or don’t get artistes to participate in this manner. We are One Africa and @cokestudioafrica belongs to the continent as a whole. You are disappointing the fans who anxiously wait to vote their favorite #Mashups. Style up!!!!!”
For years,Jose Chameleon has dominated charts around Africa but Awards are always either given to Nigerians or South Africa hence ignoring him.
