(The curse of family rule)

As if looting national assets, turning national treasurey into personal pockets, awarding contracts & lucrative jobs to family, kin and friends is not enough, Museveni is so insatiable that even the remaining industry must be destroyed…

What puzzles Ugandans, a lot is the failure to establish the law under which Salim Saleh operates? Is he a public servant, military officer or a politician? What exactly is he in the government of Uganda??

Having plundered all the country’s wealth, from banks to marketing boards, factories to farmers’ cooperatives, destroying a promising national public transport system to grabbing public land, which has left Ugandans empty handed save for their self belief, confidence, and only God given talents. Museveni’s family regime has robbed all God given natural resources now they are turning to even God given talents!

When former Britain’s Prime – Minister, Winston Churchill came to Uganda in 1907, he found a land that was flowing milk and honey, a land of beautiful hard-working people, a favourable climate, rich fertile soils, abundant minerals of all forms, fresh water bodies that included the second largest lake and longest river in the world a variety of delicious fish species, dense forest cover, to mention but a few!

This beauty coupled with the huge potential presented by our abundant natural resources and the treasures, is what saw Churchill in his book titled: ‘My African journey’, declare Uganda as the Pearl of Africa!

Decades later, Uganda appears like a once beautiful girl whose beauty was destroyed by the brutal, careless and violent man she married..
