It’s no news during the 2016 General elections, how some of Ugandan celebrities plunged into politics and applied for one position and the other.
Well, like their counterparts across the world some Ugandan celebrities have presumably started to realize that they can do more than just entertainment to bring the necessary change they wish to see in the Ugandan political system.
These entertainers have reached for a higher calling beyond their entertainment career and have decided to roll into politics.
For example;Ragga Dee who turned down football for Music which indeed paid off.Probably the richest Uganda Musician with a hummer on his fleet of vehicles plus some other business ventures.
Another one is Judith Babirye,she has managed to build her own house, built rentals and she has hardware businesses in over 3 districts.
Actor and Comedian Kato Lubwama managed to make a name fro himself while at Bakayimbira Dramactors and CBS radio and fortunately he managed to make some money,and he went on to make his own acting group. He is Contesting for the same seat of Rubaga South Member of Parliament with Ken Lukyamuzi.
Then there is Producer Eddy Yawe, a brother to Singer Bobi Wine. Eddy Yawe as a singer and producer is contesting as an area MP Kiira Municipality,he has attained great wealth as a producer and has went to to open his own Dream studios as he once employed Paddy man. Eddy Yawe has bough chunks of land around Kamowkya and Gayaza something that bothers people why he joined politics yet was was earning big from the entertainment industry.
The last one is Singer Bobi Wine,he needs no introduction in Uganda as a business man and singer,the Ghetto President has a plaza around Kamwokya,he owns Busabala One love beach and a couple of boats that earn him big daily money.He is expected to stand as President in 2021.
