Soana have officially released goalie Eric Dhaira, brother to the late Cranes custodian Abel Dhaira to seal a move to Iceland side IBV.
This has been confirmed by the club in a communication to the media on Thursday. “Former MUBS and Soana goalkeeper Eric Dhaira yesterday night left for Ireland to join IBV FC. He was officially released by Soana,” read a statement in parts.
The Kavumba side however didn’t reveal the details of the move but Kawowo Sports understands that Dhaira was contacted by the IBV coach during the time he was in Uganda for the burial of his big brother.
“I talked to him (IBV coach) when he came for burial and he told me he was aware. Everything is being processed for me to travel to Iceland,” Eric told Kawowo Sports then.
“Abel always told me to be hard working and I don’t think if given any chance I will disappoint,” Eric added.
It remains to be seen whether Eric will first undergo trials or sign a deal immediately but as usual, we shall keep you posted.
