Through her attorneys, Mwesigwa Rukutana & Company Advocates, Nabitengero Phiona alias Fifi Da Queen has served notice that she intends to sue her former employers, New Vision Printing & Publishing Company, with a demand for 10,50,000,000 within three days.
Fifi Da Queen claims that on September 26, 2022, Bukedde produced and published a headline with the words “Bakutte Fifi Da Queen kuby’okubba” in bold, full color, and next to a picture of her.
Further, on Page 5, they extensively published an article under the headline, Ebya Sipapa bikwasizza Fifi, still in full color and bold.
Fifi Da Queen says these articles are not only false but also baseless and injurious to her reputation as a distinguished journalist, a businesswoman, a mother who is happily married, philanthropist and a person of high standing in society.
She therefore demands that New Vision Printing & Publishing Company issue a clear apology on the front page, in the same size and color as the statements made about her in the publication made on the 26th day of September 2022, and also compensate her with UGX1,000,000,000/= [One Billion Uganda Shillings] as punishment for their damaging statements to her reputation, as well as pay her attorneys UGX50,000,000/= [Fifty Million Uganda Shillings] as legal fees.
And it must be completed in no more than three days.
