Purple Party and NBS Afters 5 host, Douglas Lwanga has come out and criticised Hon. Miria Matembe over her silence on the recent disturbing revelations that a student at MUBS identified as Ronan was raped and infected with HIV while on a visit to a female friend identified as Thelma Garim.
The news of Ronan’s ordeal has shocked the public and many expected Mira Matembe, the Citizens’ Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU) boss and former Ethics minister, to come to his rescue as she did for Vivian Mutunda who was reportedly raped and forced to abort on three occasions by city socialite Bryan White.
He said Miria Matembe is always the first person to react on matters concerning abuse against females but fails to address issues concerning the boy child.
The Purple party CEO said Miria Matembe and other feminists should come out to offer legal support to the victim.
“It beats my mind that people like Miria Matembe are silent whenever a boy child is affected, she quickly comes out only when it is the girl child complaining. Both sexes should be treated equally by the Civil societies,” he said while hosting After 5 show on NBS TV.
