Edrisa Musuuza, Uganda’s biggest music export and the only B.E.T Award winner, performed last weekend at the University Inn in Mbarara, attracting a large crowd.

In preparation for the Eddy Kenzo Festival, jubilation traveled to Mbarara after touring multiple regions throughout the country, and he is set to conclude with the main event in Kampala at Kololo Airstrip with “The Eddy Kenzo Festival” this November.

The event began with large drive-through activations in Mbarara, followed by a press conference to inform the media about what to expect.

Kenzo, who was born in Masaka and raised in Kampala, brought all of his energy to the stage as he performed song after song, from ‘Yannimba’ to ‘Mumpoowe,’ his latest release, strictly accompanied by a live band.

He blew up the venue with his massive turnout.

The stamina hitmaker had planned to stage an Eddy Kenzo festival years ago, but it was intercepted and halted by the lockdown that came with the deadly virus (COVID-19).

Kenzo now has his sights set on the prize, as every indicator points to the first, largest celebration of a single artist in the country.

The latter has drawn larger and wilder crowds in other African countries across the continent and now hopes to bring the magic home.
