FUFA President Moses Magogo elected to the CAF Executive Committee

Fufa President Eng. Moses Magogo has been elected to the CAF Executive Committee at the ongoing CAF Assembly held in Cairo, Egypt. Magogo beat renowned Tanzania football administrator Leodgar Tenga by 14 votes. He garnered 33 votes & Tenga 19.

Magogo replaces Tenga who was re-elected unopposed four years ago after Djibouti’s Hassan Suleiman stepped down.

The Central and East zone consists of all the Council for East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) countries that include Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zanzibar, Somalia, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan and South Sudan.

Innovations

Magogo is accredited for having transformed the league and football competition systems in Uganda and particularly the FUFA Big League and Regional Leagues. He is also responsible for starting the players contracting regulations and system in Uganda, negotiating and concluding the various sponsorships to football. Magogo has been a key player in the governance reforms at FUFA and pivotal figure in the FUFA Presidency of Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa (2005-2013).

The President of FUFA is Moses Hassim Magogo who succeeded Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa in August 2013 has led the Uganda Cranes to two consecutive African Cup of Nation Tournament finals, something Mulindwa failed to do.
