UPDATE: Uganda confirms 12 news cases as 32 truck drivers blocked from entering

Uganda has confirmed 12 new cases of coronavirus from 1743 samples that were tested from various borders points on Monday.

According to health ministry, the new cases are Ugandan nationals. The confirmation of these new cases means that Uganda’s cases stand at 260 with 63 recoveries and no fatalities.

“Today,18 May, 2020, 12 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,743 samples of truck drivers. All new cases are Ugandans. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now 260,” the Ministry of Heath wrote.

The ministry added that 32 foreign truck drivers who tested positive were turned back to their respective countries.
