The only fashion Awards in Uganda lived up to the crowd’s expectations at the Serena hotel last Saturday as a fair number of people attended from fans to all celebrity statuses ranging from artistes,presenters to socialites.
The Stages
Abryanz did the first indoor event with over 4 stages. No one knows how much he made at gate collections but one thing is that this was at International event,Fenon did a good work at lighting the 3 stages inside Victoria conference hall.
Red Carpet
You have to agree with me, this was a BET Xperience in Uganda. This was perfection of a world class setting at the Abryanz Fashion Awards,numerous celebrities were seen standing and posing for photo shoots at the red carpet during and after the event thus meaning they loved what they were seeing. At one time i couldn’t believe this was Abryanz. The lighting was on point at the red carpent
Attendance
The crowd was fair even when the entrance fee were bit high,unlike other events, by 7:30pm everyone had arrived though Sauti Sol and Banky W made it late at the Awards (i think it was Abryanz idea for them to come in last).
 Security and organisation
‘This is the Abryanz i know“,NTV’s Douglas lwanga revealed when he saw how beautiful the organisation at the event was. Security was on alert since there were big names attending from Tooro’s Princess Bagaya,Juma Seiko ,Tanzania’s Idris,Nigeria’s Banky W,Tayo.
The Red carpet MC’s kats and Douglas also didn’t disappoint as they connected well with studio 2 which had Sylvia Owori and her style project crew.
The smartly dressed ushers made sure they directed guests with easy to their various VIP table seats.
 Performances
After a 3 weeks practice and perfecting,the models tried their best to exhibit international standards in modelling though some almost slipped off the stage.
Banky W with his two dancers performed so well as expected since he was the main act but Bebe cool’s two songs performance left everyone contented especially when he sang ‘Freedom’ off his Go Maama Album. Apass too put up a 2 minute energetic performance when shade invite him on stage.
Lastly,Princess Bagaya executed a well deserved speech as she picked her Life Achievement award where she encouraged youths to join fashion because it made her and narrated her story to stardom to the crowd .
