We have had so many awards of late in Uganda from Pam Awards, hipipo awards to zinna then the forgotten golden awards and now the Uganda Entertainment awards, these are highly anticipated and expected to bring something different to what we have had before unless they fail of course but everyone’s hopes are highly raised as we get closer to the awards that are happening today at Speke Resort Munyonyo with Ehiz the famed Mtv base Mc already in the country to host them meanwhile regional East African musicians are jetting in with Tetah Sandra from Rwanda already in as well , awards time is 6pm today at Speke Resort Runyonyo Speke ballroom and an after party will be at club Cyclone Tirupati Mazima Mall Kabalagala
However let us have a look at the few nominations and categories that are quite interesting and eye catching regarding who the eventual winner will be at the end of the day.
In the Best actor category, Andrew Benon Kibuuka will be against Sam Bagenda, Abby Mukiibi and Ashraf Semwogere.Best band has Revival, Afrigo, Golden, New Eagles and Fusion Band, Crackers, Fun factory and Bakayimbira will vie for the best comedy group category, while Big Talent, Goodlyf, Fire base, Kunta Kinte will all be against Bebe Cool’s Gagamel.
Ziza Bafana, Sheeba Karungi, A pass, Pallaso and Cindy are all nominated in the Dancehall group which is one of the tightest categories in these awards. Sms One is also contending against Riham, Club Beer, Coca Cola and Movit in the Best entertainment supporting brand while in the best entertainment TV show category has NTV the beat, sqoop on sqoop, kulya kaasi, muziki zone, pundonor magazine and Jam 101. Denzel, Mc Kats, Calvin the entertainer and Douglas are tipped for the best male entertainment TV presenter while in the Best music video category, Love you every day, wale wale, Kuzaala kujagaana, sitya loss and Gundeze are all contending among other big nominations and categories
