Rwandan Singer Mihigo Kizito, a strong critic of Paul Kagame’s regime, has this morning been found dead in a police cell at Remera station.

Kizito allegedly committed suicide, according to police statement issued earlier today.

Mihingo was arrested on Friday “attempting to sneak out of the country to neigbouring Burundi to engage in an alleged rebel movement,” Kigali police says.

At the begining of this year Kagame vowed to heavilly deal with anybody who tries to destablize the country.

His alleged suicide is seen as controversial given the circumstances under which it has occurred.
