Okello okello original names Okello Oyena Joshua a graduate of business management Kyambogo University from Lira,Ngetta in particular family of many and also “a friend to many, not so dark and currently working under comedy files and punchliners comedy group” as he narrated to me in a quick interview below.
Qn? How and when did you start this journey of becoming a comedian?
Ans. Not only a comedian, a proud comedian hihi.. I started this journey way back in high school with my friends though I was doing stand up alone we had a drama group who forcefully performed for fellow students before entertainment starts.. lucky the entertainment prefect was part of us he is now in kenya ‘jame’. That was busoga college mwiri
Qn?. You used a statement ” forcefully performed for fellow students before entertainment starts” why is that I thought comedy its something everyone would love??
Ans. Hahaha comedy back then was not there so people didn’t kno it.. I remember tht was wen standup uganda had jst come. The omara daniels and the grp. initially it was hard to convince students that acting is better than t.v tho after two weekends they started looking foward to it.. meaning they liked it.. that was the birth of the game..
Qn? So let’s talk about challenges you have so far faced as a comedian and how you have overcome them?
Ans. As a person balancing between my job and my passion but through prayer my strength is renewed daily, and sometimes friends don’t take you serious but that’s normal because its the job.
Qn? So what would be your last remarks to all your fans out there?
Ans. I call them family and friends, with continued support they render the comedy industry will be greater than now.. for all those that believe in my works more fire I call it… a lot to come.
