Sasha Vybz Real name, Ian Akankwasa. A video director, film maker and CEO/Director at Savy Films. Sasha is a name he got in high school. It was about a character in a movie he used to enjoy but he does not know how he came up with or an explanation for Vybz though. It just came.
He studied from South Africa at city varsity college {best production school in africa}. where he spent three years studying film and TV production, majoring in Directing of Photography (DOP). So that’s basically his profession.
So how was the beginning for sasha in video production? The beginning wasn’t easy at all. He only had a small laptop and would look for jobs here and there. But being a photographer helped him a lot because he eventually used those contacts to get more deals. The first video he edited was Rabadabyuah by Noise Preacher. Since then, he never looked back.
Sasha works on Tv commercials, Tv series and what is widely known for music videos where currently is working on the Sili zari by sheeba kalungi project. He is the man who has been behind powerful music videos like juicy juicy by good life and Byebyo by Bebe Cool videos that are making rounds  on the international music channels.
Part of his challenges or difficulties faced in the industry Go Down Low by Pallaso and Sheebah was his most difficult because cops stopped them from shooting on set because they had closed an entire street. They had to pay extra money and the shoot was postponed.
Sasha vybz has indeed changed the video production game he is creative and innovative plus that bonus of using one of the latest cameras currently, with his good educational background in production many artists have trusted him to make for them their videos plus other clients in commercial business. He is far the best video director in Uganda
currently because his works speak and portray it out. He was recently named “Best Video Producer of the Year”at the Uganda Entertainment awards
