Government has started building houses for the families that were evicted to construct the oil refinery. The acting Commissioner for Petroleum Directorate in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Mr. Malinga said that the contractor; ‘Sumadhura technologies limited is on site and has already embarked on the construction of 46 houses and will be supervised by another firm,’ New Plan. While majority of the project affected persons opted for monetary compensation and have been compensated,only 93 opted for relocation but 46 only will get modern houses and the others will get land -land compensation.
