SC Villa have finally unveiled former player Deo Sserwadda as new head coach ahead of the new season.

The CAF ‘B’ License holder has penned agreed a two year deal at the Nsambya based club and replaces interim manager Ibrahim Kirya who guided the club to fourth place in last season’s Uganda Premier League.

SC Villa Club President Ben Misagga revealed the reason for replacing Kirya is lack of qualification.

“The main reason for replacing Kirya is lack of qualification and thus had to make a cost effective decision,” he said.

Misagga said the reason for agreeing to sign Sserwadda and his staff was because he has won the title before and technical team is greedy with success.

Unlike the rest, Sserwadda won the league with URA and also the Uganda Cup. And we want to win trophies.

“First of all, am glad to be back home,” he stated. “I thank the executive for trusting me with this job and I assure you, am going to do the job wholeheartedly and with the backing of all stakeholders, am confident of doing the job”, Deo Sserwada added on.

SC Villa Vice President Administration Peter Ssekungu thanked outgoing technical staff for job well done.

“Kirya has steered the wheel excellently as coach,” said Ssekungu. “But there are issues beyond us and so we had to get to another level. We thank Kirya and the entire technical team including Technical Director Frank Anyau and wish them well,” he added.
