Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed he will be a Manchester United player next season, and will fly to the UK on Friday to sign a one-year contract.

The 34-year-old – a free agent after leaving Paris St-Germain – has agreed personal terms worth £220,000 a week.

He announced on Facebook and Twitter: “Time to let the world know. My next destination is @manchesterunited #iamcoming.”

Ibrahimovic is set to become Mourinho’s second signing for United, after capturing Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly from Villareal.

Mourinho and Ibrahimovic have worked together before, at Internazionale in 2008-09, with the manager later saying: “A player who gave me as much as Ibra will always be in my heart. He is very special, one of the best strikers in the world.”

United, who will formally unveil Mourinho early next week, are also hopeful of securing the Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 27, after the German club admitted they had received “a much improved” offer for the Armenian.
